College Radio - that place where you could hear the unusual before it became popular and well... usual.
Tonight we skim the surface of the impact College Radio had on the music scene, those of us who tuned in and other stuff that may make sense when you listen in to our show.
Remember folks... you haven't paid for this, so when you are disappointed - you got nuthin' to complain about !
We had some friends show up (not just the 2 fans who are related to us) and had a great time - listen in on our crazy conversation about College Radio !

As El Carpe struggles to keep his voice due to the effects of Covid...we also talk about my experience with magic mushrooms. What a great experience. Low Standards and Pours never promotes the use of any drugs both legal and/or illegal. We did a short show this evening and we look forward to getting back to our format next week. Please stay tuned in. Just say, "Pour me another brother"! And Hobo Chillin, come back and talk to us next week. Looking forward to it.

How does music affect you? Mood adjustments? When yer sad, do you play happy stuff to break the mood, or sad stuff to double-down and drown in your sorrows? Or some other thing?
let's talk about it dude - it'll be ok...
Tonight we had a visit from SamIAm and Shealby (Eric's "friend" from Canada) - (sorry Shealby - horrible reference to Breakfast Club) - laugh later. They both made the show worth listening to... (I blame El Carpe)
A generally fun chat about music and where it takes our emotions... heavily influenced by our audience tonight (yep, those three fans who aren't related to us)
Give this a listen and find some songs you like, giggle a bit, groan some more at El Carpe's stupid jokes (as if they are jokes)
Siouxie & the Bluecheeze, Warren Zevon, Moby, Enya, the sundays, the Cure, Psych Furs, Love and Rockets, Bauhaus and many other bands are discussed and played.

We spend some talking about the success of the Hamtramck Music Festival and the bands that played there. What a great turnout! 27 bars and almost 180 bands....What a great non profit organization, helping the Detroit schools music programs. We also did a LSAP review of the Peter Hook concert in Royal Oak, MI. A 2 1/2 hour show!! Joy Division and New Order. Much of the classic songs. Well worth the money! One of the best shows of the year! Listen to us next week when El Carpe comes back from the Mothership!!!! He was last seen hanging out with Statler and Waldorf!!! Just say Pour me Another Brother!!!

This event has punk, country, rythym & blues, rock, metal, jazz, and everything inbetween - you get to choose what you wanna hear. If you're able to be here... this is the place to be.
We listen to and comment on these local Detroit bands and more: The Strains, The Witches, ATMIG, Ladyship Warship, Dead Surf, Three Spoke Wheel, Jackson & the Poolsharks, Screw, The Zotz, Tony Paris - and that's just a taste of ONE of the 4 days of music at HMF - you can look up the whole thing at 2022.hamtramckmusicfest.com
- find some fun bands, feel free to donate to the cause of raising money for instruments, equipment and more for the youth of the greater Detroit area.
You never know where the next musical genius will arise - let's put the instruments in the hands of the possible.

Tonight we ramble about some Detroit rockers. Not the super famous ones everyone knows - but some of the semi-famous, got radio air-play, "OH THAT song" guys...
El Carpe is WELL aware of the annoying 'talking over the song' stuff he does - but that's so ya'll get a taste of the tune, and then get the title / artist so's you can look it up for yourself on your favorite media and hear the song with your own good speakers / headphones / portable pill speaker or whatever ...
Eric recognized most of these - can you? Songs from Detroit bands like: Bitter Sweet Alley, Rhythm Corps, The Romantics, The Rockets, Flash Kahan, The Look and others.
Thanks for hangin' out with our Super Schitty Committee - Pour Me Another Brother ! "

Rockabilly ! Why is this music so fun to listen to !?!? Join us for a brief romp through the history (as we barely remember it) of this great music genre ! Bands like The Cramps, The Blasters, and 184.108.40.206's - and how they derived a revived version of the genre... from roots like Gene Vincent, Carl Perkins, Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, Bill Haley and more...
Sure Rockabilly and Psychobilly are siblings in rock - and we touch on a couple of our fav psychobilly bands - Hillbilly Moon Explosion and Messer Chups.
Don't miss Eric's touching tribute to Queen - "What?" you ask... Well - ya remember "Crazy Little Thing Called Love"? you should - it's got that rockabilly feel for sure !
Sit back and lose an hour with us - enjoy some tunes and maybe you'll hear something you'd like to buy (from the artists - not us)
Pour me another brother.
